The Executive approved today the concept of the Government Remote Person Identification Service (e-KYC) and designated the e-Government Agency as the owner and holder of the e-KYC service, which will ensure the implementation and continuous development of the e-KYC service; the integration of this service with the MobiSign service; the provision of the e-KYC service to public and private legal entities.  The e-Government Agency is also to approve the contractual conditions for the provision of the e-KYC service and the related rules of use and the tariffs for the provision of the e-KYC service.  The implementation of the e-KYC service, its creation, piloting and development, will take place during 2024 and will be carried out from the financial means foreseen in the budget for 2024-2025 of the World Bank Project Implementation Unit (PIU), the estimated cost being approximately 9.5 million lei. The implementation of the eKYC service is promoted with the support of the Economic Council Secretariat, which, during 2023, advocated for the approval of the deliverables developed under the project launched by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the British Embassy, which decided to support the implementation of the eKYC service in Moldova.  With the support of the Secretariat of the Economic Council, legislative and regulatory changes were made, including the Decision on the governmental remote person identification service (eKYC), which will ensure an adequate regulatory framework for the development of eKYC in Moldova. The Secretariat also facilitated interaction between the World Bank and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitisation on the financing of the development of the technology solution.
